The Community Church at Tellico Village is seeking a skilled organist/accompanist to accompany our choirs and support congregational singing in two Sunday morning worship services. We are an inter-denominational community church with members from a wide variety of denominational backgrounds. Our worship is lectionary based and uses liturgical elements drawn from a variety of Christian faith traditions. The musical style of our worship ranges from classical sacred literature to music from the gospel and spiritual traditions. The ideal candidate would be a skilled accompanist with training in organ performance and literature. Improvisational skills would be a plus, especially for hymn accompaniment. Currently the hours include Monday afternoons, Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings plus individual practice time. Salary range $20k-$35k Our pipe organ is a 42 rank, 3 manual, instrument using 1862 Henry Erben pipe work restored by Cornell Zimmer, opus 114. The design also uses some Haskell and Austin pipe work from the same period. The organ uses a Casavant console. This organ was featured on the cover of the April 2011 "The Diapason" magazine and is the centerpiece of our new Sanctuary, completed in December 2010.
