We are looking for a Director of Praise & Worship in a multi-cultural, urban setting. You must be able to lead a mix of genres ranging from gospel (Israel Houghton) to contemporary (Hillsong United) to hymns. The ability to lead from an instrument is not necessary but the ability to direct a band is. You will be responsible for recruiting a team, facilitating the development of their skills, and serving as their pastor. The ability to develop a choir is desired but definitely not a deal breaker. We're not just looking for someone to fill a role, we want someone who will play a vital role in the overall development and life of the church. Oh, and you must be able to laugh!
MiddleTree Church is church plant that is launching in the city of St Louis, Missouri in September 2011. Our goal is to reach out to the unchurched and dechurched people of this city, and we want someone that shares our heart. St Louis was actually named the most dangerous city in America in 2006 and 2010. We know that one church alone will not change this city, so we will be a church that plants churches. Our plan is to sponsor a new church plant within the first 3 years.
All staff members are bivocational at this point, and this job will provide you with flexibility so that you can maintain an outside job. However, from the beginning, we will provide you with a monthly housing allowance. This is a part time position with potential for full time employment as the church grows.
