Part Time Pastor of Worship and Creative Arts
SUMMARY: The Worship Pastor will work closely with the Senior Pastor and CAM (Creative Arts Ministry) leaders in organizing, leading, and developing the corporate worship and various worship ministries of Grace Chapel.
QUALIFICATIONS: They must be spiritually mature, humble, trustworthy, flexible, and detail-oriented. In addition, they must possess ample musical abilities and leadership competencies to lead worship, build teams, teach skills, and shepherd people.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Weekend Worship Services:
Work with CAM team to Identify, recruit, and develop leaders, musicians, and vocalists for weekend worship teams
*Oversee artists and drama team to incorporate creative arts into worship
Work with CAM team to oversee and direct worship team practices
Work with CAM team to organize and facilitate training sessions and seminars for the growth of worship team members
Coordinate worship services with the coordinator of media & sound and recruit volunteers
Lead contemporary corporate worship services at least 45 weeks of each year/24 hours per week.
Worship Ministry:
Assist in identifying and developing worship teams for other Grace Chapel ministries
Work with the coordinator of media & sound team to ensure adequate equipment for all worship ministries
Enhance and expand the repertoire of music and worship arrangements
Participate and/or lead in special events such as weddings and funerals as needed
IN GENERAL: This person will assist and report to the Senior Pastor in the fulfillment of the mission and vision of Grace Chapel.
Align with the philosophy, values and doctrinal statement of Grace Chapel
Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and staff development times.
Possess strong vocal ability with a contemporary vocal tone and quality
Play guitar with ability to lead a guitar based worship service
Read and prepare sheet music and chord charts
Write vocal charts and coach vocalists in the areas of blend, pitch, tone and presentation of the music
Possess basic knowledge and understanding of sound reinforcement and techniques
