Job Description

I. Abstract
Shepherding ministry and spiritual care of the English-speaking adults (married couples, single adults over age 40, and their families). Be responsible for their spiritual growth, development, deployment, and well-being in worship, prayer, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and service.
II. Activity
A. Responsibilities
1. Follow and carry out the vision, ministry and mission of the church under the direction of the Senior Pastor.
2. Teach the Word of God to English-speaking Adults through Sunday School or other ministry activities and venues.
3. Lead the English Adult ministry team to plan, strategize, implement and evaluate to grow the people, the ministry, and God's kingdom.
4. Oversee the budget of English-Speaking Adult Ministry.
5. Develop and oversee fellowship ministries/opportunities for English-Speaking Adults.
6. Recruit and equip leaders for English-speaking Adult Ministry and to help develop and train workers for other church ministries in conjunction with other pastoral staff members' needs.
7. Establish and oversee a system of caring for English-speaking adults.
8. Any and all other activities and responsibilities assigned by the Senior Pastor or his designee.
B. Duties
1. To maintain regular office hours
2. To preach in worship services as directed by Senior Pastor
3. To perform pastoral duties for ordinances (i.e., Lord's Supper and baptism), weddings, funerals and other special congregational needs (e.g. counseling and crises ministries) as directed by Senior Pastor
4. To be available as needs arise for prayer for sick, crisis, and other urgencies.
5. To attend Pastoral Staff and Deacons meetings
III. Accountability
A. To Whom:
1. God – Be obedient to God and His Word (2 Timothy 2:15)
2. Church the Body of Christ
a. Be a godly example as a pastor, leader, and family man (Titus 1:7; Titus 2:7-8)
b. Become a member of the FCBC-LA, uphold its Constitution, and support the Baptist Faith and Message Statement of the Southern Baptist Convention (Titus 2:1-6)
3. Senior Pastor – under his general care and supervised by him or designee
4. English-speaking Adult Ministry Team – ministry goals, decisions, resources and budget
B. How: Maintain his spiritual walk with the Lord (1 Timothy 4:6-8)
C. Why: Be a good example of faith and purity (1 Timothy 4:16; Titus 2:7-8)
IV. Authority
1. To strategically plan and carry out activities, responsibilities, and duties of the English-speaking Adult Minister within vision, ministry, and mission of FCBC-LA.
2. To direct English-speaking Adult Ministry resources, people, and activities.
3. To approve budget resources and authorize expenditures within budget for English-speaking Adult Ministry.
