Job Description
Summary
In line with the confession, mission, and values of Redeemer Bible Church, and reporting to the elders, the Pastor to Families is a full-time position that oversees the growth and development of middle school and high school students and their parents.
Objective
To equip youth and their parents to proclaim, embody, and enjoy the gospel in such a way that they and people of the Twin Cities are transformed by it, to the glory of God.
Responsibilities
Develop and direct a program to equip parents with a gospel orientation toward their calling.
Develop and direct programs to encourage and enhance gospel relationships between youth and parents.
Engage in personal Word Ministry with youth and parents.
Develop and direct programs for youth, including weekly teaching meetings, small groups and/or discipling relationships, off site retreats, and special events.
Train youth and their parents in friendship evangelism and discipleship.
Develop and direct a discipleship program for youth from non-Christian homes; evangelize their parents and introduce them to Jesus through the church.
Direct youth participation in mercy ministry, service projects, and missions and outreach.
Recruit, train, support, and motivate a lay leadership team for youth ministry.
Choose, gather, and maintain curricula and resources.
Attend weekly shepherding meetings, monthly Vista (Vision-Strategy) meetings, and thrice-annual VC (Vision-Celebration) meetings.
Report to and debrief with Pastor Bob weekly.
Perform other duties as required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Wholehearted agreement with the doctrine, mission, values, and vision for youth ministry of Redeemer Bible Church.
Master's Degree from an accredited seminary, or equivalent.
Seven years of pastoral and/or biblical counseling experience.
Passion and calling specifically to youth ministry.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated effectiveness in raising his youth.
Demonstrated ability to equip and minister to youth and their parents by pointing them to Jesus.
Demonstrated ability to recruit, motivate, and lead teams of volunteers.
Demonstrated ability to administer multiple youth programs simultaneously.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict biblically.
Time Commitment
Approximately 48 hours per week.
Total Annual Compensation
$55,000-$70,000, depending on experience
