Candidates for this position must be comfortable in both contemporary and traditional music styles, with the primary skill emphasis on contemporary music and must have a passion for nurturing faith through music. Bachelor Degree in Music desired.
The Worship Leader is responsible for planning congregational music for two blended services (contemporary songs and hymns) and one traditional service, with the vision for developing a fully contemporary service. This individual will coordinate participants and rehearse the Praise Band weekly, providing team building and spiritual nurture. He/she will provide music leadership as needed for additional gatherings. In planning the elements of each worship service, the Worship Leader will coordinate music with the leaders of other musical ensembles (chancel choir, handbells, children) and work with the Worship Team for long-range planning. Additionally, this individual will have oversight responsibility for the technical elements of worship to include sound and projection. As a full-time staff member he/she will attend weekly staff meetings and work with other staff on joint ventures.
