Canyon Lake Community Church is a multi-generational church that is grounded in the unchanging message of the gospel, but led by an ever-changing method of engaging the current culture and incarnating the gospel. We are looking for an addition to the CLCC pastoral team, one who embraces the mission and vision of the whole church, contributes to the ministry of the whole church and has a heart to build bridges across generations and cultures, with primary responsibilities to the Threshold service.
The Threshold is CLCC’s newest of four Sunday morning worship service options, designed to speak the “language” of the postmodern/Gen X crowd, though it has been having a broader appeal. The service is relaxed, informal and often humorous; we seek to keep it relevant to a newcomer, yet deep enough to challenge a monk, with creativity flowing in everything we do. We are looking for a passionate, driven, creative, multi-talented lover of Jesus who can combine cutting edge creativity, high quality music and the guidance of the Holy Spirit in order to help lead CLCC’s Threshold service into the presence of God, as well as contribute to a variety of ministry areas of our whole church.
We are looking for a teammate who has:
• a deeply rooted, stable, growing and vibrant personal walk with Jesus
• a life of character and integrity that others can look to and learn from (a leader, in other words)
• a God-given gift of spirit-led pastoring of people into experiencing God’s presence
• the emotional maturity to work well with the entire pastoral team on a variety of ministry items that contribute to the growth of the entire church body. (e.g. you will work in concert with the other Creative Arts Pastor on a regular basis)
• superior musical ability: vocal, instrumental, sound engineering and technical skills
• the ability to organize, manage, lead, develop and disciple the music team members
• creative excellence with various media forms (video production, animations, drama, visual arts, etc.) that can enhance a worship experience (familiar with pro tools, final cut, motion, etc.)
• a driven work ethic that leans on the side of needing to be told to go home and get some rest
• a firm understanding of modern and postmodern worldviews and how they relate to Christianity and the church
• a versatile set of gifts and skills that will enable them to make an impact in a variety of areas of the church, far beyond music on Sunday morning.
• an educational degree in related area (seminary preferable), or comparable training and experience with references and proven track record
• the ability to utilize leadership development tools in church- wide workshops or resource groups
• the ability to utilize current and upcoming social media forms such as Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, blogs, etc. for ministry purposes
• the ability to do occasional teaching
